Climate Change Risk Assessment Methodology vs. Economic Costs
Within the framework of the week of open lectures held in the auditoriums of “Luarasi” University, as part of the 1FUTURE project, the Institute for Nature Conservation in Albania (INCA) organized on December 16, 2025 an open lecture with students of the MSc program in Economics, on the topic “Climate Change Risk Assessment Methodology vs. Economic Costs”.
The lecture was held by INCA expert, Emirjeta Adhami, who presented the risk analysis methodology, explaining the didactic steps and the data needed for each phase of the process. She illustrated how these data are related to the analysis of the costs of damages and adaptation measures for different scenarios of the impact of climate change on economic sectors.
The activity was enriched with discussions on practical examples of the implementation of risk analysis at the local level, identifying risks for the community, natural resources and exposed infrastructures, as well as methods for calculating the relevant costs.
This lecture represents a further step in the commitment to involve stakeholders in strengthening the capacities of the new generation of professionals, in managing climate change risks, integrating sustainable development in changing conditions, and promoting cooperation between scientific research, relevant expertise and communities.
