Strengthening Local Youth Councils in Kukësi as an important place for dialogue

📅 On December 12, 2025, a special activity was held at Kukës with the participation of young people from the region, representatives of the Local Youth Forum and high school students.

🌿 The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen the Local Youth Councils as an important place for dialogue between young people and their local representatives, promoting dialogue and increasing confidence that young people are a driving force for changing behavior towards the environment and resolving situations in support of environmental protection. The councils represent an extraordinary stage for strengthening the civic engagement of young people, especially in environmental protection issues.

🤝 In cooperation with INCA, young people had the opportunity to be trained and learn new mechanisms for active involvement, as well as share concrete experiences on environmental advocacy in their community.

📌 During the meeting, discussions were held on positive models of civic participation. The young people learned the basics of lobbying and advocacy for environmental protection at the local level, sharing inspiring examples from their experiences, such as initiatives to improve community and school spaces or the creation of environmental protection and conservation systems in residential neighborhoods.

✨ At the end of the activity, the young people proposed identifying the main priorities that young people will advocate to local government, turning this meeting into an important beginning towards strengthening the youth voice and environmental protection in the Kukës region.
