Together for nature and community – Training on eco-tourism and visitor management
Together for nature and community – Training on eco-tourism and visitor managementOn 16.09.2025 in Maqellarë, we held a training session with local shepherds and tourist guides, focused on building capacity for eco-tourism activities and sustainable visitor management.
Participants showed that eco-tourism is not only a way to share the natural beauty and local traditions, but also a path to enhance their economic well-being while protecting the pastures as a shared resource.
The training sparked fresh ideas, a spirit of collaboration, and a vision for a future where nature, culture, and community thrive together.
Pastures and forests are not just natural assets, they are opportunities for sustainable growth. By protecting them and integrating them into well-designed tourism activities, local communities can enhance their well-being, celebrate cultural heritage, and safeguard biodiversity for future generations.
